Ramayana is an ideal book to depict and describe the Indian civilization. Indian
Civilization has been thoroughly described init. The word civilization means
best creation implies endeavours of the man through which he tries to achieve
peace of mind and satisfaction in the worldly matters in next life ,social,
spiritualistic, economic and political fields.
Knowledge, Science and Philosophy are three facets of the human being. All the
three aim at unity in diversity, commonness in separateness and newness in the
old. The simple knowledge has achieved this purpose by classifying the different
items into groups. The chemistry has divided all the physical elements into 105
types of elements. According to physics research the whole universe is a
conglomeration of electrons.
The Grate Poet Kalidas has also respectfully addressed Bhagwan
Valmeki Ji (in the 4th century A.D.) as 'The First Poet. Mahakavi Bhavbhooti
said in his dram 'Uttar Ramayana' (8th century A.D.): "The story of Valmeki
Ramayana sanctifies after removing the sins and adds to the welfare. Like the
Ganga of this world it brings betterment and is lovable. The poets should study
the poetry of Omniscient Valmeki Ji, which has been given the form of a drama
and projected through acting."
Valmiki describes the construction of Ram Sethu (Discovered by NASA
in modern era) in great detail. Here
is an excerpt and text (translation) of the entire sarga (Book VI:
Yuddha Kanda, Book of War, Chapter [sarga] 22) where this description
occurs in Valmiki Ramayana.
The architect who led the construction was Nala. This was also
confirmed by Veda Vyasa in Mahabharata.
Veda Vyasa refers to the Sethu as Nalasetu (Mahabharata: 3.267.45)
